Labor feels like forever ago but we still can’t believe we have her. And while everything can be on the verge of falling apart at anytime, when it’s good, it’s so good that you forget it ever wasn’t. The newborn world is all a very delicate Eco system with one thing working one minute and then never again, for no reason in particular, making you second guess anything you thought you knew. It’s a changing ride, but hey, we always love change anyway.
Some things I learned in her first week of life……
There is no schedule, so if your a planner, go ahead and throw that idea out the window, you’re on baby time now.. Or at least for a while anyway.
Cry = feed me, diaper me, swaddle me/ hold me, I’m tired……. but mostly it’s feed me
Zippers are way waaay better then snaps, especially at night when u try to change a diaper in the dark and your too tired to open more than 1 eye
Babies like to be tightly swaddled.. All the time, tighter then you’d think
Their little feet and head get cold, sock and beanie them up!
Check diaper after each feeding and keep it changed to avoid diaper rash. If it happens anyway, Desitin really works.. But running warm water over their little bum daily, and letting it air dry works even better
A sports bra paired with a skirt pulled up to your bust = a dress (this is currently my cartoon character outfit)
Hospitals mesh panties are quite luxurious (and washable, bring them home!)
