Homemade Garlic Herb Blender Pizza Sauce

June 26, 2018 by Julie Ann Leave a Comment

Everyone, this is the pizza sauce you’ve dreamed of! A light and chunky tomato based sauce, seasoned only with natural sources. A bit of salt from kalamata olives, and a hint of sweet from dates. Spiked with raw garlic cloves, and fresh herbs to create a pizza sauce bursting with savory flavors. And it is so easy to whip up, as this blender pizza sauce comes together in a single step.

Blend!

Blender pizza sauce in a mason jar

This blender pizza sauce recipe came about on our travels through the high desert of southern Colorado, while visiting with my brother’s family.  Their oldest was having  birthday, and made a request for pizza.  A fairly common request for a nearly 8 year old.  He also requested the toppings, kalamata olives, onions, artichoke hearts, and tomatoes.    Not a fairly common request for an 8 year old.  But how awesome is that?!  As my brother’s family maintains a vegan diet, and vegan recipes have become my favorite recipes to cook, I was pretty excited to get to work on this pizza.

As vegan recipes exclude all dairy products, this pizza would not contain cheese.  I wanted to include some extra bits of flavor, so that even if you were used to eating cheese on you’re pizza (like me), you would not miss it.

This Garlic Herb Blender Pizza Sauce is precisely the merry of savory flavors every pizza should contain.

Serves: 32oz Mason Jar

Ingredients

2 medium size whole tomatoes

1 Large can Fire roasted Diced tomato

1 Carrot

3 Cloves Garlic

1/4 onion

Pinch of parsley

Pinch of Basil

3 Dates

2 tablespoon good quality olive oil (Pasolivo)

4 Kalamata olives

1 small zucchini

Directions

Blend

Spread over pizza crust, like this Vegan Pizza below, or enjoy warm with pasta.

Somewhere down a winding road. Off to the right, Somewhere down a winding road. Off to the right, then the left, the forest opens up to a dreary wet sky. A fast, stormy river swiftly moves past us, snatching up bits of forest in it wake, and taking them on its expedition of mystery. Up the embankment we stumble upon a tiny playhouse. Thick moss covering its roof, it almost blends right into the space it sits. Untouched for some time, like a fairytale. #pnwdream #intotheforest

It was either be a large poster board of animals (the baby just loves it), or a gang of masks (oh wait that’s totally normal today), sourdough starter + pre-weight bags of multiple flours for feeding and baking, or maybe it was a bag of seeds and a glass quart size mason jar. Yeah, packing seeds might take the win here, but look at how well they did with some California sunshine! Wana grow some? Dr. Rhonda Patrick has a beautiful step-by-step free guide on how to do it on her website @foundmyfitness 🌱✌️☀️😘#packingessentials #roadtrippacking #broccolisprouts
