Chicken drumsticks are smothered with BBQ sauce and beer, then sealed in an airtight ziplock bag to lock in flavor. Grilled beachside, and served with a tortilla napkin, Beachside BBQ Chicken is a quick, low-mess fix for beach days. I know, everyone does chicken wings, but the large drumsticks are so much better and heres why.
1) Help Hunger! they provide way more meat then a little wingy
2) Money Smart! Drumsticks are typically lower in cost then wings, organic ones seem to run about $2.99/ lbs just about anywhere
3) Eco Friendly, less potential for waste! their meat is a thicker cut then a wind, so you have a much longer window of accidentally forgetting about them on the grill, before they are burnt to an inedible crisp
The first time we made these was 8 years ago on a road trip from Florida to CA, we found a cheap little propane table top grill for just $20. Looks like they have gone up in price a bit, but are still great to have on hand as they fit just about anywhere. No matter what time of the year, any excuse to get out side and hang by the beach is a good excuse. And if you happen to be in The California, there are always plenty of days full of enough sunshine to enjoy some outside grilling, so go to it!
1 Large Ziplock bag
6 Chicken drumsticks
1 can of lite blonde or Pilsner style beer
1 package of Tortillas
Add Chicken to ziplock
Drizzle in about 1 cup BBQ sauce
Pour in 1/2 can beer (drink the rest)
Seal ziplock, squish the bag so chicken gets covered in sauce, marinate until ready to grill
When fully cooked, lay tortillas on top of chicken, and cover the grill for 1 minuet to warm
Grab chicken off the grill with tortilla, wrap and devour. No napkin needed, tortilla should keep your hands clean!
Add this easy ziplock salad to get your daily greens!
